66 Pedigree Charollais Females on behalf of The BCSS

Females were in strong demand at the British Charollais Sheep Sale held at Skipton on Saturday, with a strong clearance rate, the best seen for several years. A strong commercial trade underpinned the day, whilst there were some higher top end prices. Charles Marwood’s Foulrice flock twice hit 1,000gns, the first for the days champion. This strong shearling by Langstone K2, a Wraycastle i-pod son, she sold carrying triplets to Lowereye Neils Favourite to DB Roberts of Shrewsbury. Next out at the same price was the 2nd prize shearling from Foulrice, sired by the homebred Lightening itself by Castellau Krypton and out of a Rainbow Komodo Dragon Ewe, he successful purchaser was Samuel Tindall. A third sheep from Foulrice was a smart shearling sired by Rhaeadr Nock out of a dam line going back to Filibuster, with twins inside her she sold for 750gns to an undisclosed buyer. Ewe Lambs performed well, especially the last offering to come from Ian Bradshaw due to ill health, and they received a lot of interest, The whole consignment were sired by Glyn Coch Main amn and the pen leader was 550gns selling to JD&V Towers of Camp House. Next best was 450gns to N&ML Breese. The MArwoods of Foulrice completed their good day by selling a Lowereye Neils Favourite daughter for 550gns to E Mccann of Askham in Furness.
