Best of the younger end saw a 9 month old Limousin from Alan, Sue & Gary Lodge of Malham Moor sell for £1,300, a fair amount of 7-8month bulls penned today, and the best of the rest hitting four figures, whilst middle of the road types were either side of £800. A few commercial types of bulls (6mo) around the £700 mark. Overall selling average today of £904.

26 Grazing Cows met a buoyant trade with some well conformed cows selling to £1250 twice, for a cow from Ian and Stuart Barrett, Summerbridge and another from John and Tracey Lund, Driffield with 5 cows in all, over £1100 and an average across the board of £738.

Store Cattle –

In the store cattle ring trade was a touch swifter with a stronger show of cattle right throughout the sale. Some strong runs of further stores saw some fierce bidding with P&E Fox, Withgill, A Guy & Son of Elslack and DT Houseman, Darley all seeing their cattle surpass the £1200 barrier for some cracking continental bullocks.

A large number of 2017 calves were on offer today with the vast majority of handy calves selling between £750 and £900 with a number of buyers attending specifically for suckled calves. Good quantity of buyers on harder, rougher sorts with weathered cattle selling away very nicely.
