Craven Dairy Auction (32 head)
A good show of dairy cows today with a busy ringside throughout the sale though they were certainly a choosey ringside. Robin Jennings of South Stainley hit the top step in the judging ring and went on to just fall short of the 2000 mark at £1980.
Regular trade topper David Lawson had a fine heifer which rocketed to £2300 and heading to Richard Sutcliffe of Queensbury.
Robert Crisp of Calton wasn’t far behind with a deep black heifer reaching £2100.
Despite the big prices some heifers did struggle and it shows in the averages but overall and considering the state of the industry the sale went well.
