CCM Auctions held their Annual Sale of Blue Faced Leicester Rams and Females at Skipton on Tuesday Evening where trade was said to be good, without seeing some of last years extreme prices.
Messrs Kitching from Threshfield, always noted for their runs of quality Mule lambs at Skipton provided the main principle prices this year, with the sale topping price of 1,500gns being paid for their shearling ram, by their Smearsett 2968/H8, it sold to A Newbould & Son, Dallowgill.

Messrs Kitching also took top price ram lamb on the night at 1,100gns with their Smearcett H8 son selling to AJ Mason, Skipton.
Richard Hutchinson brought forward a consignment from his Kirkby Redgate flock based at Kaber near Kirkby Stephen, and from it produced the champion sheep on the night for the second year in a row. By the Skeughdale ram, it sold for 1,000gns to Messrs Crisp, Airton.
JC Walker & Son from Dunsop Bridge always catch the eye with their rams, and tonight it was a Midlock H2 shearling ram in the money at 1,400gns that was leading their pen, going home with JA&JH Hewetson, Bank Newton.
John Mason of Oddacres had a strong consignment of shearling and ram lambs forward, his leading shearling made 1,200gns, by the Swathburn, selling to A Newbould & Son. Messrs Mason also sold a ram lamb at 800gns, by Macqueston M1 it sold jointly to Neil Marston, Cockermouth and Alec Brown, Thornhill.
Kevin Wilson had a brace of shearlings by Smearsett H1, the best of which made 1,100gns to JR Addison & Sons from Barnard Castle.
Also at four figures were John & Rob Lancaster from Bordley when selling a shearling ram at 1,000gns, this one by Otterburn Lodge K12, it sold locally to W Mason & Sons, Appletreewick.

The last of the four figure prices saw Ashley & Rachael Caton from Otterburn Lodge achieve 1,000gns for a Smearcett J1 son, when selling across just across Otterburn Beck to neighbour Phillip Metcalfe.
Another fresh visitor to Skipton was NE Harland, Glaisdale with a run of traditional type tups, and with a growing band of producers looking to cross on to white faced ewes they found favour selling to 900gns.
