CCM Auctions held their fortnightly sale of Gimmer Shearlings and Breeding Ewes at Skipton Mart on Tuesday. Another good sale with quality sheep of all breeds in high demand and commercial sorts generally getting away quite nicely, with breed averages for Texels the same as the first sale and Mules just £5 less.
Best shearlings of all breeds from £150 to £200, a couple of prize winning pens of continentals just a shade over. Commercials types of shearlings £120 to £145 depending on quality.
Young Ewes found a very ready market, quality 2 shear Texel and Mules in the £150s to £170’s form Thomas Binns, 3 & 4 Shear Ewes from £100 to £135 depending on quality.
The day started with the Annual sale of Charollais rams from Society members, and a nice entry peaked at 500gns from CW Marwood & Son, Foulrice, who sold 3 at this money, and ram lambs generally from 300gns to 400gns.
