Rearing Calves to £415 (100)

100 calves through the door this morning with a handy trade to meet them. All types would see good averages with British Blue bulls topping the averages at £355 and topping at £415 from J&SA Lancaster.
Black and whites were nice to sell with a superb show of pure and ¾ Friesian bred calves which were £160 - £200 and topping with a cracking bull from Michael Heron of Bramhope at £200 with of 7 Friesians from Pickersgills of Guiseley averaging £171.43. Regular Holstein Friesian calves saw a straight trade with the better fleshed calves £60 - £100 and lesser goods £30 - £60.
Continental heifers saw a number of bidders with 80% of British Blue heifers selling over £300 and topping with regular supporter Fred Houseman of Church Farm Enterprises at £400.
