CCM Skipton looks forward to NSA North Sheep 2019
As one of the mainline sponsors, Craven Cattle Marts in Skipton will have a high profile presence on its indoor show stand at NSA North Sheep 2019.
Fittingly for such an event, live sheep will again be available for viewing – a Swaledale ewe with North of England Mule lambs at foot, along with a Continental hogg with Beltex lambs.
There will be the usual warm welcome to all at the CCM stand, which will feature photographic displays and offer light refreshments.

CCM Skipton remains one of the UK’s key livestock sales marts, selling some 275,000 sheep and 20,000 cattle annually.
It is noted for large seasonal sales of store lambs, gimmer lambs and breeding sheep, alternating with fortnightly sales of between 500 and 900 high quality store cattle, including young feeding bulls, which regularly feature between 150 and 400 suckler-bred premium types, with a high proportion of particular interest to export buyers.
CCM Skipton also hosts an extensive range of pedigree shows and sales for both cattle and sheep, among them annual highlights for pedigree breed societies, including British Blue, Limousin and Beef Shorthorn cattle, and Beltex, Texel, NEMSA and Charollais sheep, plus the highly popular annual multi-breed pedigree breeding sheep fixture.
In addition, CCM remains an important centre for bi-monthly dairy cattle shows and sales, along with seasonal rearing calf shows and sales.
Since 1996, CCM Skipton has become the leading centre in the UK for Working Sheepdog sales, regularly attracting 100+ entries and buyers from throughout the British Isles and Europe. Some spectacular prices have been achieved, including world records at an official sale for both dogs and bitches, though there are still plenty of opportunities for potential buyers to choose from a good cross-section selection of readily affordable dogs for both work and trial.
Moreover, the mart’s central location makes it key to securing numbers from throughout Yorkshire and East Lancashire, with sales also supported by some of the country’s top pedigree breeders.
