Craven Dairy Auction (27 head)
Todays dairy sale went better than expected with a busy ringside but with many having a strict price in mind. Pre Sale winner was a 29 litre heifer from Mark Houseman of Burton Leonard which went on to make £1520, with Peter Baul’s Reserve Champion selling for £1500 and Robin Jenning’s 36L heifer selling at £1480.
Robert Butterfields Bull got away at £1200 with Incalf and Maiden cattle receiving a handy trade against the fresh calved trade.

Calves seemed fairly stable on the week with averages only a pound or two different from the last few weeks. Some strong calves from Church Farm, Geoff and Margaret Booth and Paul and Janet Bolland all went to make strong prices in the late £300’s. Black and whites not as hot as last week but still averaged out well at £67.59 with a number of small young calves dragging the average back.
