Black and whites were certainly good to sell with a handy trade throughout the sale with Limousin’s also on the end of a better trade. Other continentals a touch easier in places although a strong calf from Jonny Moon of Wigglesworth went on to top the day at £370 for a sweet British Blue Bull.

Craven Dairy Auction (36 head)
A mixed show of newly calven cattle met with more resistance than of late. The better end on the day reached mid teens of hundreds, Peter Bauls champion Heifer, calved three weeks on 32 litres making £1600 selling to Alf & Andrew Townsend. Brian Moorhouse of Hesper Farm had another heifer in this price range at £1500, whilst regular vendors Messrs Ireland of Thorpe Bassett reached £1520 with a 3rd calved cow on 42 Litres and David Booth of Broom House selling at £1500 for a 2nd calved cow giving 45 litres.
