Prime Cattle (under 30 mos)

Back to the regular entry of prime cattle and a strong lineup of buyers. George Cropper of Baxenden bought the top priced beast a 605kg homebred British Blue heifer from EW&JR Parkinson of Dunsop Bridge which made 250.5p/kg or £1515. Up there in the highest p/kg prices was a 500kg Limousin heifer from F&FJ Leeming of Ramsgill which sold to Countrystyle Meats Ltd of Lancaster for 249.5p/kg or £1248. Robertshaws Farm Shop of Denholme were busy again for the second week running buying amongst others the second highest gross a 620kg Limousin cross heifer from CD&RF Kitching of Threshfield for £1423 or 229.5p/kg. A very good trade with commercial heavy sorts a little easier and the overall averages inclusive of a handful of empty dairy heifers.
