2,568 SHEEP comprising 2,150 OLD SEASON LAMBS and 418 CAST SHEEP
A lighter show of Old Season Lambs this week met with an improved overall sale average of 197.2p/kg. However, the very best were not as dear as seen in recent weeks with 225p to 250p more the mark with a top of 274.4p/kg from Paul Simpson of Bolton by Bowland, but the next grade of the nice first cross Continental lamb would be 5p to 10pkg dearer caused by the tighter numbers. Heavy Continental and Suffolk lambs were again good to sell with 46kg to 52kg lambs averaging 191.2p/kg and the mainstream weight bracket of 36kg to 45kg lambs averaging 200.9p/kg.
