2,988 Prime Sheep comprising 2,511 Prime Hoggs, 477 Cast Ewes & Rams
A very mixed show of sheep today, and certainly not of the overall quality that we usually see and so 164p was a good result on the day, which in reality was dearer on the week. Handy weighted well fleshed lambs were a decent trade all day with 38kg to 42kg receiving better attention than the previous week. Smart Continental 36kg-37kg sold well too. The heavier lambs for home kill are meeting a bit of resistance now, especially if overfat, so best to move these before they get too thick.
Mule lambs similar, handier weights of 42kg to 44kg better per kg than heavier types.
A larger show of ewes were similar to the previous week, some decent meated selling ewes finding a good enquiry and heavy sorts well bid for.
