4,539 Prime Sheep

A larger show than was anticipated out for sale today included over 600 Horned Lambs and 500 Mule Lambs in the entry. Prime weight horned lambs around 145p to 150p, and lightweights round 135p to 140p. Mule Wethers were all around 145p to 150p topping at 155p. Beltex lambs again were good to sell, although maybe not just as extreme as last week, but Ellis Bros led the way at £118 per head or 287p for a pen of 41kg lambs. It was the heavy lambs that were the trade of day, quite a lot of heavy types making £85 to £95 for 48kg to 50kg. Handy weight lambs upkept recent weeks trade with 155-160p the mark for commercial types, 160p to 180p for decent types. Cast sheep were very good to sell, most being dearer on the week for a larger show.

SALE AS NORMAL NEXT MONDAY AND THE USUAL SIZE SHOW OF SHEEP REQUIRED. THANKYOU.
