Prime Sheep
Things a bit harder work this week with commercial lambs finding the going tough, but better skinned lambs and the smart stuff fairing not too badly. Mike Allen from Staithes topped the show at £112 per head for Beltex’s selling to Will Rathmell. Tony & Kay Kiernan from Longridge presented a great run of 100 fed lambs with pens at £106 and £104 to Kendalls Farm Butchers in Harrogate & Pateley Bridge, £103 to J&E Medcalf Ltd, £100 to Will Rathmell, £99 to Hartshead Meat Co and £99 to J Penny & Son, Rawdon, £97 to Joe Bosworth and £97 to Keelham Farmshop. Alastair Jenkinson from Langbar sold to £104 for Beltexs to Vivers Scotlamb, whilst Fred and Julie Eddington had lambs up to £104 selling to Kendalls Farm Butchers. Smart types and the hard fed lowland sheep got away nicely, but grass lambs and commercial types were harder to place this week.
