First of all a big thank you to all vendors who responded to the call to bring sheep to market today, they were rewarded with a lamb trade that was dearer on the week, with lightweight Horned lambs being especially good to sell. The cast ewe trade was especially hot, with 596 head averaging a staggering £98 each.

Hill lambs sold well all day, best lambs were a straight trade, with not many of the out and out specials to set this section alight, but still several pens topping £100. Handy weighted lambs however were a sharp trade, and would get dearer as the sale wore on. Heavy lambs were either side of £90, whilst some topped £100.
