Countrystyle Meats from Lancaster bought both high flyers in the p/kg stakes both British Blue cross heifers weighing 530kg and 261.5p/kg from Mesrs AA&E Critchley&Son of Hutton. The 264.5p/kg purchase also proved to be the highest gross of the day at £1402. Top gross steer was a 565kg Limousin cross from CD&RF Kitching of Threshfield which to Keelham Farm Shop for £1376 or 243.5p/kg. Plenty of retail interest at the ringside on a quiet day for numbers because of the good weather for chasing grass.
