A strong show of rearing calves today, with mainly continentals on show with over half British Blue’s. With Suckler men in attendance trade was particularly strong for sweet British Blue heifers topping at £430 and 16 British Blue’s over £400.
Strong show of calves needed for next week with buyers looking for strong well fleshed calves in all classes.

Craven Dairy Auction (15 head)
A stronger ringside of buyers with a good portion ringside on lookers competing hard for milkers though a few heifers struggled to breach the £1800 barrier. The champion another sweet heifer from Peter Baul of Watergate farm, Bishop Thornton and first in the ring set the tone for the day ending up at £2000 which was bought by Mr Williams of Cheshire. Reserve Champion from Brian Moorhouse managed to do one better with a Windbrook Daughter giving 32 kgs and reached the top price of the day of £2020 to Mr Williams again.
