Calf trade looking good with a very mixed bag of calves on offer. The sale consisted of mainly younger sorts today compared to last week’s super show. All selling reasonably well and going to a full range of buyers and a new face round the ring. 11 Buyers were seen ringside actively bidding for the 58 calves

Topping the Blue trade were 2 bulls both at £350 from J M Smith and JC Marshall respectively. They went on to avg £271 which were a very respectable avg for the calves on offer. Heifers topped at £295 from Joss Lancaster.

Angus bulls topped at £360 avg £278. These looked a superb trade for the calves on offer ranging from 4-8 weeks of age. Heifers would be slightly steadier topping at £190 and avg £180.

B+W calves were mainly bobbies with a few rearing sorts getting in to the £60-70 mark but topping at £72 the avg was £38. More calves wanted for next week as more buyers are expected to be present after selling stores this coming Wednesday.
