820 Breeding Sheep
Another large show of sheep with lambs at foot, although maybe not just the overall quality seen last week. Best of the hoggs and lambs to £215 from Raymond and Robert Johnson, James Hall made £190 of a pen, although the commercial types would be slightly cheaper than last week. Plenty of older sheep too and prices not just as strong as last week, Better end of outfits with twins trading around the equivalent of £60 per life, and commercial types £50 per life. Please advise the mart office of entries by Friday Lunchtime. Thankyou.

Stronger numbers of calves forward today with a cracking trade had by all. Johnny and Simon Moon of Wigglesworth topped the trade with his bulls at £415 & £410 in the British Blue bull section. Natives were a pleasure to sell also with £320 stopping the best native bull from Fred Houseman and £275 for a heifer from the same home. Black and whites despite the average being less the price for what was offer was stronger still, with James Gooch seeing his 8 week old Bulls reach £170 and £160 respectively with fortnight old calves £85 - £100 for most types which saw the bobby calves easing the average slightly.
