CCM Auctions conducted the Northern Area Texel Sheep Breeders Club Sale at Skipton Mart where a solid commercial base underpinned the trade throughout the sale with a clearance rate of 90% achieved.

The female trade was led by the champion, a Gimmer Shearling from West Yorkshire Breeder Spyros Spyrou, this daughter of Deveronvale Superb out of a Gib Farm Moose the Moochie Ewe that had bred gimmer shearlings to 7,000gns, was sold for 3,800gns to the Anglezarke flock of Dr SR Symes.
David Towells’ Moor Top flock again provoked much interest with his sale leading pen of 8 shearling rams producing six sales at four figure prices. Leading the pen was a son of Moor Top Star at 2,700gns to Mr M Wood, Barnard Castle, Co Durham. Following closely at 2,400gns was a Moor Top Outlaw son selling to AW Beattie, St Bees, West Cumbria. 2 further sons of Outlaw sold at 1900gns and 1800gns to Pilkington Farms, Hartington, Buxton and PR&EE Clarke, Grantham respectively. Stuart Currie had a cracking pen of gimmer shearlings with a trio of Arkle South Pacific daughters selling at 2,300gns to Dr SR Symes, 2,200gns to Sam & Sarah Beachell (Samsar) from Driffield and 2,000gns to P Strickland, Eldroth, Settle.
