MARKET REPORT - WEDNESDAY 18TH SEPTEMBER:6,589 Head (Overall av £56.54)
At the fortnightly sale of Store Sheep there was a good attendance of travelled buyers looking to purchase lambs for longer term keep and this helped to maintain the trade for Suffolk, Continental and Cheviot lambs from that seen at the previous sale, smarter types would be a shade dearer.
The Mule and Hill bred lambs however were a mixed trade with strong lambs good to sell, but smaller lambs for long term keep looking value for money. A feature of today’s sale was the Annual Show & Sale of Continental Gimmer Lambs and the prizes were awarded by our judge for the day Mr Chris Windle of Skipton.
