Seasonal shortage of good quality strong bulls saw top end cattle getting away at £1100 and upwards, 2016 born cattle met a good trade for high quality types with 7 month bulls £900 - £1120 but second quality stock harder to place. The youngest cattle met a good audience of both finishers and customers looking for cattle to grow on.

The store section saw Peter Fox taking the prizes for 2015 Born Bullocks at £1390 and £1280, whilst Sheila Mason had the first prize over year heifer with a lovely Blue cross at £1290. Peter Fox had 2^nd and 3^rd prize, both Limousin crosses, at £1370 and £1320. In the suckled calf prizes (2016 born), Janet & James Huck of Austwick had Champion and Reserve making £1240 and £1180 respectively.
Trade wise, things were rather mixed, regardless of age the smarter stuff was easily sold, a solid square type of beast and a decent cross from the dairy cow also had a good following, but anything very commercial or a plain dairy cross was harder to cash. Suckled Bullock Calves were a strong trade, the best end nicely up in the £900’s and over the £1000 mark, likewise heifers, but plain sorts soon slipped below £700.
