A lighter show and more cattle carrying finish contributed toward an improved cast cattle trade for all categories. Remains a definite premium for Farm Assured cattle reinforced because of the larger quantities of imported beef available to processors at home and abroad.

PRIME SHEEP
Another big show of sheep presented saw trade ease as expected, with prices dropping around the country as the day wore on. Anything with meat on was nicely bid for. Better sorts 180p-200p, Commercial types 170p-180p but the entry included a lot of 34kg to 37kg which were penalised this week with a couple of buyers missing from the ringside for this class of lamb.
A much smaller show of ewes were a straight trade.
