REARING CALVES to £485 average £127.01
The colour of the day was distinctly Black and White with two thirds of the calves being Hol/Fries. With a large entry of black and white calves trade was for those planer sorts being back a touch on recent weeks and averaged £61.72 (all 42 days and less). The continental calves however met a trade similar to last week with the best blue bull calf from John Blackwell, Gargrave reaching £485. Decrar Farming of Bielby, brought along some 3 ½ - 4mth old Bull Stirks and met a good trade with Holsteins making £250 and Aberdeen Angus to £375.
