Market Report – Saturday 16th March 2013

CCM Auctions held their March Agri-Trader Auctions and Saturday Collective Livestock Sale at Skipton Mart on 16th March. The Livestock section was one of the best supported yet with 112 head of stirks and 100 head of ewes with lambs at foot forward for sale. In the sale yard and car park there were 2,049 lots forward for sale in the various sections with a very good trade for various items of large machinery. Anything sheep/ lambing time related or muck handling equipment were very much in demand. With 664 separate vendors and purchaser’s onsite today this created a wonderful spring time atmosphere at this very popular sale. MACHINERY

 

The biggest entry for many years sold to an exceptional trade. With the rain holding off there was a buoyant atmosphere down the machinery lines.

Tractors sold to £2500 for a MF 35X consigned by Mr R Caton, Stainforth. A 1967 David Brown 780 selectamatic tractor made the days 2nd top price tractor at £1950.

A Welger Baler topped the machinery section selling for £2400 and a 4 furrow reversible plough

sold for £1000. A Major 600 rotary spreader achieved £1200.

Trailers peaked at £1680 for a 7ton tipping trailer.

Many other items made over £1000 and the clearance rate exceeded 92%.

 

STONE

 

Again another good entry of stone & Timber. Some principle prices - Pallets of stone sold for £290 & £260. A stone face achieved £260. A pair of gate posts made £260.
