MARKET REPORT WEDNESDAY 31ST OCTOBER

Fortnightly Catalogue Sale of Store Lambs & Breeding Sheep Forward: 5,584 Head (Overall av £57.60). Lambs in very sharp demand today from tops to bottom with a full ring of customers present. High demand for the smart Beltex, topping at £98 from Frankland Farms, 8 other pens at £80 plus. More of these best types of lambs needed for customers at the ringside. The strong short keep Suffolk and Texel crosses were up a gear on the fortnight by £3-£4, whilst the smaller wintering type lambs were also a better trade as seasonal buyers now begin to arrive looking for this type of lamb.
