MULE GIMMERS - TUESDAY 22ND SEPTEMBER 2020

Second Prize Show & Sale of North of England Mule Ewe Lambs on behalf of NEMSA Members. Forward: 6,185 head at an overall average of £102.26 per head (+25.03 on 2019) CCM Auctions held their 2nd Fortnightly Sale of North of England Mule Gimmer Lambs on behalf of members of NEMSA on Tuesday at Skipton. There was a very good level quality of lambs for this years second sale, with several pens of genuine tuppers still being present, but in the main lambs were of a decent size for running and looking in nice order.

Premium prices still available for top end pens, with CD&RF Kitching taking the first prize pen of 10 and taking joint top price of £200 per head, a level that was seen earlier in the day for JC Walker & Son’s top pen. JK Wilson & Son Blubberhouses achieved £175 for their lead pen, followed by WP&B Walker at £170. Like last fortnight, one of the fancied runs of sheep came from Francis & James Caton, Weston, who again were up the prizes taking first and second in the 20’s and 5th in the 10’s, achieiving £155 £135 for the 20’s and £150 for the 10’s, resulting in a fantastic average for their run of £117.67 for 224 head.
Running lambs were keenly contested all sale long with buyers in good form, whilst lighter headed lambs for farming and inclusion in flocks receiving good interest, especially for stronger sorts.

The socially distanced prize show on the morning of sale produced the following results, and we thank the judges for their time and expertise in carrying out their task.
