Top call of the day was 3900gns paid for the second prize senior bull, a British Blue bull consigned by Messrs H&S Maudsley of Stainforth, ‘Little Bank Hercules’ is a son of Empire D’ochain and a proven sire from the high health status ‘Littlebank’ herd and he went on to join Colin Whitelock of Gargrave.
With a number of buyers in the market for a British Blue Bull, the first prize senior bull Keasden Head Herbi from Keasdens Shelia Mason was the next highlight at 2,500gns by ‘Imperial de L’ecluse’. The 2012 born bull joined Malhamdales Jeffery Burrow.
Other breeds were harder to place with a Aberdeen Angus bull, ‘Cragg Mr Escort’ from J Swires of Wilsill, a bull in the 15% for calving index and sired by Rawburn End Point, which stayed in Nidderdale when joining Messrs AR&J Alsop & Sons of Dacre. Judge Mr John Stephenson
