A cracking sale of Charollais Females at Skipton on Saturday with good clearance rates and strong averages across the board.
Leading the sale at 1,000gns was the much fancied inlamb shearling (Lot 3) sired by the Dalby Mount Aloe son Foulrice Osprey out of a Wernfawr Jim ewe, and carrying twins to Galtres Upper Classs, she sold to Messrs Radley of Dumfries. Another shearling from Foulrice sold at 650gns, this time a Dalby Sherman daughter, inlamb again to Upper Class, and is now making its way over the Irish Sea to Messrs Houston of Randalstown.
Kenton Foster sold a brace at 900gns and one at 750gns, the first at 900gns was a Gwyndy got shearling Lot 20) that had stood third at Great Yorkshire show last year and with twins in her she went to Messrs Roberts of Shrewsbury, then lot 23, a Crogham Five Star shearling with triplets to the same purchaser, and Lot 19, a Galtres Rameses Shearling with a single to Messrs Roylan.
Ewe lambs sold a complete clearance, and topped at 620gns for the pen leader from Chris Crowthers Dudston flock, travelling for the first time to Skipton from Montgomery. By the Oakchurch Ruben son Knockin Umptious, a brother of Knockin Shockin, it went home with Skipton regular Robert Towers of Ingleton.
