The 126th Show & Sale held on behalf of the Wensleydale Longwool Sheep Breeders Association saw Andrew Fisher lift the championship at the Friday evening show with the male champion, a shearling ram by Maesafon Tornado.

The 42nd Jacob Sheep Society Northern Area show and sale championship was awarded to Mr L Trumper and Family from Abergevenny whose Beiliau Flock produced the 2 Horn January born triplet ewe lamb (by Border Windrush) to win the Female Championship and sold to G Wood for 1500gns.
Reserve was pulled from the pen of Mrs DJ Price Pentrement Flock, a shearling ram sired by Hope Flash Lad which sold to Mrs V Stanley for 1200gns.

SHOW RESULTS
The rare breed sale at Craven Cattle Marts at Skipton Auction Mart was once again well supported, with a wide variety of sheep up for grabs at this sale. Today’s sale began with the cattle section

Sheep –
A healthy show of rare breed sheep saw some strong judging classes before the sale. During the sale the trade was strongest for vendors of Grey Faced Dartmoors, Welsh Badger Faces and Herdwicks. Top call of the day went to the Reserve Champion from Ian Grisedale, a 2shr Herdwick tup sold for 340gns. A run of Grey Faced Dartmoor Shearlings from Mr Howard of Conistone topped at 132gns and averaged £122.5 for 6 sheep. Rob and Penny Paisley saw there Welsh Badger Face Ram reach 200gns and there runs of gimmer lambs average £64.
