RARE BREEDS
The rare breed sale at Craven Cattle Marts at Skipton Auction Mart was once again well supported, with a wide variety of sheep up for grabs at this sale.
David and Kath Wilson of Crimple head kindly donated a Teeswater Shearling Gimmer to be auctioned for Parkinsons UK charity. The gimmer made £120 and was bought by Mr Sleightholme.

Special Show & Sale of Goats
Inaugural sale of Pedigree and Pure Bred Goats with a decent catalogue put together prior to the sale. Of the entries forward the day an 86% clearance rate was achieved. In the pre sale show James Ormerod of West Marton chose a Pedigree 2017 Boer Buck from Chris Dickinson of Penrith as his Champion (selling for 340gns) with Ellie Crisp of Calton, Nr Skipton taking Reserve Champion with a Pure 2018 Boer Buck (Selling at 260gns) .
Top price of the day went to a pair of 2018 Pygmy Nanny Kids from St Leonards Farm which saw some fierce bidding and ending up at 365gns each. Next in line was the 3rd Prize Pedigree Boer Sifelly Neddy from Sarah Brocklebank, Goole selling for 350gns.
A run of 1 crop Dairy Nannies in kid to Pure Boer Buck from Ellie Crisp saw a very healthy trade. Scanned with Singles to Triplets they sold to 160gns twice and averaging £132.5, with a run of February 2018 born Dairy X Boer Nannies topping at 180gns and averaging at £126.52.
