Feeding Bulls – a good entry of strong bulls for the time of year and a number of regular consignments which always bring an extra buyer or two. Under 12 months bulls were a very strong trade if they were premium types of well drawn strong factory sorts. Buyers were more cautious over second quality bulls older than 12 months.
Feeding Cows – a mixed show of feeding cows and stock bulls, 75 head were forward for sale and attracted the usual strong company of buyers. Stock bulls sold to £1240 for a British Blue from GD&A Midgley of Luddenfoot, whilst a great pure Blue Cow from Mr KW Gamble of Easingwold topped at £1580. Strong short keep cows were into four figures, but more plain & lean lasses were forward as would be expected at this time of year and selling at prices to suit the goods.
