46 BREEDING CATTLE
The much-anticipated annual consignment of beef breeding cattle from Ashfield Farms, Lothersdale did not disappoint there was a good attendance of specialist beef producers. Top price of the day was £2500, a British Blue Heifer with a strong march born bull calf. With 7 families over £2000 the limousin heifer’s with heifer’s calves topped at £2200 whilst these with bull calves peaked at £2300. The Ashfield consignment saw an increase on the 2019 average underlining the demand for the high quality well presented suckler replacements for beef producers.
