Feeding Bulls – an exceptional trade for an entry 94% of which were under 12months and an average of £967. Premium quality young bulls were £1000 to £1300 and trade were supported by a number of extra buyers looking to keep finishing pens full for the New Year.

Feeding Cows – customers were keen to secure cattle for the New Year trade. The edge just of the heaviest short keep cows inline with current factory returns.

Store Cattle – A tremendous show of cattle in today with more spark ringside on all classes. Strong top-grade Lim Blks £1200-£1340 with P&E Fox of Clitheroe reaching the joint top price of £1400 for one of his Bullocks and M Ryder also making £1400 for three of his Limousin Bullocks.
Limousin heifers a similar trade with more sweet sorts of heifers in at the £1200-£1280 mark. Proctors Farms made £1300 for a lovely smart heifer as well as D&FJ Leeming, Harrogate also making £1300 for two of his Lim Heifers. M Ryder, Harrogate got prices of £1440 and £1330 for 2 of his Heifers and RS&HA Davey making £1400 for his.
Blue bullocks sold to a top price from A Beresford, Halton West £1250 followed by vendor MP Jennings reaching £1200 for two his dairy bred strong blue bullocks. Best blue bullocks £1120-£1200 with other good thick sorts with a touch less size £1080-£1100. Some younger feeding sorts £800-£920.
Blue heifers similar to the bullocks with plenty of purchasers ringside for these goods. Best grade cattle £1250 and large heavies’ same price. Good strong Blue Heifers £1080-£1170. Smaller sorts of farming cattle, although very few in, but in the £760-£840 region.
Natives sold to a flying trade with 41 Angus bullocks selling to an average of £991. Young 4-5-month-old long term goods sold tremendous at £480-£550. Strong heavies sold to a top of £1420 again from Bargh Bros, Bracewell. D&J Coates, Skipton sold 4 Angus Blks at £1200 and above. Other strong Angus sold in the £1100-£1140 region. Younger end of feeders £910-£970.
Native heifers very few in but all selling very well top end £1050, medium size with flesh £830-£880.
Black and White steers sold well with plenty of large bullock buyers ringside for these goods and a total average of £914 for the 29 on sale. Top price £1000 from H Downs & Son, Caeleton. Big end of fleshy pens £980-£1000 with slightly smaller types but still plenty of size and cover on at £860-£920 as well as large lean sorts making this price.
