***PLEASE NOTE*** Additional Sale next Wednesday due to poor weather this morning, please phone office on Thursday with entries, ballot drawn for catalogue on Friday morning.
Young Bulls – Delayed start with the temporary closure of the A59 at Blubberhouses because of the snow. Under the circumstances enough customers got to Skipton to ensure that feeding bulls maintained values from previous sales.
Still the time to pick up the best of the 2016 spring born feeding bulls and a good number forward. Best of the 2016 May bulls was Messrs K&GJ Huck of Austwick whose British Blue male £1210. 2016 April bulls £1200 a limouisn from J Pickels of Chapel le Dale. 12 month + bulls top £1260 limouisn from RS Harker, Carnforth.
Feeding Cows were a great trade topping at £1370 for a Charolais from David Pawson, Billinge, average £937, more required for each sale, please enter them for catalogue.
Store cattle numbers were severely affected by the bad weather, but anything with strength was easily sold, however younger sorts were a slow trade with several regular buyers unable to get to market.
