Forward: 599 head of cattle
Comprising: 201 Young Feeding Bulls, 27 Beef Feeding Cows, 368 Bullocks & Heifers, & 3 Breeding Cattle.
Feeding Bull trade very similar with a stronger entry and fewer high quality cattle in the entry. The few smaller end cattle were the best trade of the day whilst the top under 12 months bulls made £1100-£1225. Second draw heavier bulls a shade less on the fortnight.
Store Cattle seemed like a two sided type of sale with either strong hard 18 -24mth old cattle on offer or 9 – 13mth old cattle. Older stronger cattle were a good trade for anything with potential with healthy runs of cattle seeing the best of the trade. E Simpson saw his three Lim x bullocks reaching £1270 each. Native cattle certainly commanded a premium today with some strong Aberdeen Angus bullocks from CW Sutcliffe of Bolton by Bowland selling for £1150 for a pen of three. Smaller yearlings 8-13month old straight trade on the fortnight.
