Fortnightly Sale of Young Feeding Bulls, Store Bullocks & Heifers, Breeding Cattle. Forward: 872 head of cattle. Comprising: 816 Feeding Cattle (248 Young Bulls, 86 Beef Feeding Cows & 5 Beef Feeding Bulls, 477 Bullocks & Heifers) & 56 Breeding Cattle.

Feeding Bulls – another high-quality entry of 2019 born bulls with a high percentage of 300-400kg cattle in the entry which were well sold. Bulls of all ages with growth potential were a good trade throughout while the small extreme types were harder to place.

Feeding Cows & Bulls -  A large show of cows today and a sharp trade seen, especially for the leaner end of goods. Best end £1100 plus, topping at £1410 for a super Limousin from Highfield Farm Partnership. Plenty of cows £850 to £1000, and the leaner end of cow with some frame £750 to £820. Overall average of £877 proving the section is a good place to market your geld cows.

Stores -
Feeding cattle a strong trade today. Many more could have been sold to the sellers advantage. Angus Heifers topped at £1070 and Bullocks at £1225 from J Cheetham. Strong U Grade heifers selling to a wide audience of buyers for further feeding or taking to the bull, With a top price of £1520 from High Field Farms for a belting Limi.. Good strong steers flew to an active audience round the ring. Retail cattle saw a lot less about, saving up for next fortnight’s Show and Sale so a good turnout of retail cattle expected forward.

The yearling bullocks sold just as well as previous weeks. Angus yearlings a cracking trade as well. Yearling Heifers steadier on the week but more softer sorts entering the ring which didn’t help. Any Heifer with size and age flying but some grass cattle could just be a bit early in coming to the auction as winter could still come round the corner. Good makers still a similar trade as there gets less about and more buyers after these market spec cattle, although the older the beast the better the bonus.
