Fortnightly Sale of Young Feeding Bulls, Store Bullocks & Heifers, Breeding Cattle
Forward: 751 head of cattle
Comprising: 191 Young Feeding Bulls, 476 Bullocks & Heifers, 8 Breeding Cattle & 76 Pedigree Limousins
Another fantastic entry of 667 Store Cattle & Young Bulls were forward for sale today and numbers show no sign of easing off yet, and this continues to draw a large crowd of buyers to each sale from across the North, Midlands and Eastern Counties.
Young Bull trade defied the odds and was stronger than many anticipated, producing an overall selling average of £925, premium bulls still receiving plenty of interest with Ben Townsend topping the sale at £1280. Grazing cattle were in nice demand, and again it was the yearling bullocks and heifers that were easiest to sell as customers stood at the ringside to compete strongly to secure the cattle that were offer. Strong cattle however were harder to place as feeders respond again to a prime price that is under pressure.
Producers should note that over the course of the next two sales there will be several annual consignments of breeding cattle that are worthy of note. Please keep an eye on the catalogues.
NEXT SALE – WEDNESDAY 27th MAY 2015.
