The Craven Champions Sale 2015

An unprecedented entry of show quality animals were put before the judge Mr David Wilson of Harome, Helmsley with 22 heifers put out in for showing in the unhaltered heifer class alone. Our judge took great care whilst carrying out his task and found a lovely mobile and very correct British Blue cross heifer consigned from Jeff Walker and family, Dunsop Bridge as his supreme Champion, and it was fitting that for this they won The Jack Walker Trophy that was kindly donated by the family last year. The heifer found a new with home with Michael Wynne of Midhopestones for £1,800. It was the Reserve Champion that caused most stir though, this sweet and very correct 10 month old black heifer that was first prize in the Young Handlers Class when shown by Rob Walker sold for a recent record price for a Store Animal when it was knocked down to George Rice for £3,000. Messrs walker capped a good day when selling a third heifer for £2000 later in day. The prize winners averaged a wonderful £1,439.50 per head.
