Feeding Bulls – biggest show of bulls this spring with nearly all the entry under 12 months. Definitely a sense that some bulls were sold early to clear pens for lambing time. Trade was again strong with the dearest small well bred young continental cattle top side of £900 throughout. Heavy bulls in the slot from a fortnight ago £1000 to £1120 for U types.

Feeding Cows - An increased show of 78 Feeding Cows sold to a sharp trade with an overall average of £885 per head. Topping at £1200 was a nice Limousin cross from L Bamforth & Son of Wainstalls, Halifax with John Mellin from Long Preston making £1190 of a nice Lim/Blue cross. Plenty of stronger cows £900 to £105, whilst a lean improving cow was easily £750 to £850. More cows needed for our packed ringside eof customers, anyone with cows to sell contact Ted or Jeremy.

Stores - A large show of bullocks and heifers saw short keep and smart cattle a very good trade with buyers out in force and on form. Good grazing cattle, especially bullocks were nicely sold too, but a plainer younger animal would be cheaper on the fortnight. The March Special sale of Native Beef and Dairy bred stores brought forward an entry of 180 head across the three sections, and this found favour ringside, Angus cattle especially good to sell, whilst Black & White Bullocks continue to sell very well at Skipton
