Forward: 278 head of cattle
Comprising: 62 Young Feeding Bulls, 182 Bullocks & Heifers, 30 Breeding Cattle
Light show of cattle and feeding yards only part full because of recent uncertainty in the prime beef market combined with forecasts of lower feed prices to bring a good attendance of buyers. Good shaped bulls farm assured and with time to finish under 16 months continue to be the choice for specialist feeders but a few customers at the lower end looking for bulls to put away.
Steers and heifers continued in similar style with stronger types getting well into 4 figures and once again customers for quality young cattle to grow on.
A useful collective of breeding cattle saw a number of good quality families of interest to premium suckled calf breeders with Sam Berry topping the sale with his 2011 British Blue Heifer selling with her Limousin Heifer calf at foot to Mac Townsend for £2000.
