Forward – 232 head cattle: 67 Bulls, 151 Steers & Heifers & 14 Breeding Cattle. 60 Breeding/Store Sheep and Goats. 645 Lots of Machinery, Implements and Builders Plant. 542 Lots of Reclaim, Salvage and Small Tools. 51 Lots of Stone & Timber.

Fortnightly Sale of Young Feeding Bulls, Store Bullocks & Heifers, Breeding Cattle Forward: 578 head of cattle Comprising: 64 Young Feeding Bulls, 495 Bullocks & Heifers, 1 Feeding Cow & 18 Breeding Cattle Another large entry for CCM Auctions regular fortnightly sale of cattle. Young Bulls were a very sharp trade especially younger creep fed sorts. In the Store section buyers were quick to snap up anything smart or strong, however they were a little more selective than of late on any second quality types.

Fortnightly Sale of Young Feeding Bulls, Store Bullocks & Heifers, Breeding Cattle. Forward: 446 head of cattle, Comprising: 37 Young Feeding Bulls, 387 Bullocks & Heifers & 22 Breeding Cattle. Numbers were again good for the time of year at CCM Auctions fortnightly sale of Store & Breeding Cattle held at Skipton Mart on Wednesday.

STORE CATTLE - WEDNESDAY 5TH AUGUST 2015

Fortnightly Sale of Young Feeding Bulls, Store Bullocks & Heifers, Breeding Cattle Forward: 519 head of cattle Comprising: 77 Young Feeding Bulls, 393 Bullocks & Heifers, 4 Grazing Cows & 45 Breeding Cattle. At CCM Auctions fortnightly sale of cattle at Skipton on Wednesday there was a large entry for a mid-summer sale with 474 head sold in the store ring and 45 head in the breeding ring. Trade was good, smart sorts easily up keeping the rates seen at recent sales, although more commercial types whilst still a decent trade they didn’t just sell away as fast as seen recently. A mixed entry of breeding cattle sold away to a nice trade as producers look for replacement breeding stock to eat surplus grass.

STORE CATTLE PRESS - WEDNESDAY 22ND JULY 2015

Cheshire success at Skipton summer store cattle show Tom Ryan, who farms in Altrincham, Cheshire, presented the first prize young bull and overall show champion at a special summer cattle show at Skipton Auction Mart, which produced healthy trade throughout. (Wed, July 22) Mr Ryan secured the title with a 12-months-old home-bred British Blue-cross sired by a pedigree Blue bull he had earlier bought at Skipton. It sold for the day’s top joint top call of £1,440 to York father-and-son farmers and butchers Stephen and Anthony Swales.

STORE CATTLE WEDNESDAY 22nd JULY - MARKET REPORT

A Strong show of cattle for this time of year, with a healthy trade had throughout the day. Bulls set the tone with small goods looking as dear as anything, although prize winners in the pre sale show did romp into £1440 with all bulls averaging at £1065. Bullocks and Heifers took on where they left off last fortnight, however a large proportion of dairy bred goods on offer today shows the strength of the trade. Andrew Fawcett had the highest priced pen of three for some quality Simmentals and A Rigby took top price at £1430 for a fantastic heifer. Natives were also well supported with Paul Drinkall reaching £1235 for a pen of three Aberdeen Angus steers.

STORE CATTLE - WEDNESDAY 8TH JULY 2015

Fortnightly Sale of Young Feeding Bulls, Store Bullocks & Heifers, Breeding Cattle Forward: 371 head of cattle Comprising: 73 Young Feeding Bulls, 217 Bullocks & Heifers, 2 Feeding Cows & 79 Breeding Cattle. CCM Auctions had forward 371 head of cattle for their fortnightly sale at Skipton Mart on Wednesday. Young Bulls were again a very keen trade, quality types especially good to sell, with Ben Townsend selling a run of 5 bulls topping at £1520 averaging £1430. The overall selling average was £1062.60. In the Store cattle section buyers were out in force reacting to an improved prime trade and keen to source short keep cattle, as a response all classes were a shade sharper on the fortnight.

STORE CATTLE - WEDNESDAY 24TH JUNE 2015

Forward: 366 head of cattle Comprising: 110 Young Feeding Bulls, 194 Bullocks & Heifers, 1 Feeding Cow & 61 Breeding Cattle At Skipton Mart on Wednesday, CCM Auctions conducted their fortnightly sale of Store & Breeding Cattle where a useful entry was presented to a very keen ringside of buyers. Young Bulls easily up kept the rates of last sale, with the premium types being a shade dearer. Bullocks and Heifers although forward in decent number for the time of year were still way short of the requirements of buyers at the ringside, yearling cattle again looking particularly good to sell.

LIVESTOCK ONLY - SATURDAY 20TH JUNE

A nice entry of 129 Stirks, Weaned Calves and Young Store Cattle were presented for the Monthly Saturday Sale at Skipton Mart this week. In line with recent improvements in store cattle and prime cattle prices there was a very good enquiry from the ringside of buyers looking for cattle to graze and grow on. Goats were forward in large numbers and this is now becoming a popular feature of the Monthly sale as customers travel further distances in search of a ready market in which to both sell and buy. Forward – 129 head cattle: 23 Bulls, 102 Steers & Heifers & 4 Breeding Cattle. 29 Breeding & Store Sheep and 45 Goats

MARKET REPORT – WEDNESDAY 10th JUNE 2015 Fortnightly Sale of Young Feeding Bulls, Store Bullocks & Heifers, Breeding Cattle Forward: 358 head of cattle Comprising: 126 Young Feeding Bulls, 162 Bullocks & Heifers & 70 Breeding Cattle A great show of bulls for the time of year attracted additional buyers, some buoyed by the recent increased returns for finished cattle and trade was sharper than the previous sale and the average rose to £1,006.90 per head. Smart strong bulls were £1,200 plus up to £1,340 for a cracking Blue form Mark Nelson of Bull & Cave Farm in Clapham. All the nice makers were £1000 plus.

Skipton Saturday sales day bonanza Multiple sales catering for a wide cross-section of interests were again on the agenda at another action-packed Saturday at Skipton Auction Mart. (May 23) The monthly livestock collective featured a strong turnout of 163 cattle, among them a total of 128 stirks, which continued to sell well across all breeds, including a good selection of native animals.
