CCM Auctions conducted their Monthly Sale of Stirks, Weaned Calves and Young Store Cattle on Saturday at Skipton. There was plenty of trade about today for the 167 on sale. All sorts of quality in today with young 5/6 month continentals the trade of the day. A&SL Throup & Son topped the Blue blks at £900 for a 14 month old.

A flying trade today with prices increased on the week, aided by the weeks’ worth of showery rain and slightly warmer days bringing out more purchasers. Texel Hoggs with singles from E Crisp, Calton selling to £255, £252.

£2K-plus raised at CCM Skipton in memory of Hannah Brown A magnificent total of £2,240 was realised when generously donated sheep were sold at Skipton Auction Mart in memory of young farmer Hannah Brown, whose untimely death in March aged just 26 left the agricultural world in deep shock.

Leading honours change hands at Skipton prime cattle show Same frontrunners, though an about turn in principal honours was the order of play at Skipton Auction Mart’s May prime cattle show, when the previous month’s reserve champions, the North Craven Smith family, stepped up to clinch the title, with April victors, the Kitchings, from Threshfield, having to settle for overall runners-up slot.
