Fortnightly Catalogue Sale of Store Lambs, Feeding and Breeding Sheep Forward: 2,385 Head (Overall av £71.12) A tidy entry of lambs for the last sale of 2020 and trade every bit as good as we had hoped with feeders still clearly keen to secure lambs for feeding into the hogg season, and a super overall average of £71.12 per head which is very comparable to the previous few sales given the increased proportion of hill lambs and many vendors coming towards the end of this seasons lambs.

Gambles grab glory yet again at Skipton Christmas cull ewes fixture Easingwold husband and wife, Ken and Hazel Gamble, gained further glory when sending out the cull ewe champions for an eighth consecutive year no less at Skipton Auction Mart’s festive show and sale. (Mon, Dec 14)

PEDIGREE & PURE BRED SHEEP Annual Sale of Pedigree Beltex A small but select entry of Pedigree Beltex females at todays sale were a sharp trade and a nigh on total clearance. Leading the section at 1,000gns was Matts Endeavour, a daughter of the 3500gn Hackney Download and with the 3400gn Warrior in the Dam line, it sold carrying twins to JGE Heseltine of Bolton Abbey. The same farming sold further inlamb sheep at 850gns 650gns and 600gns a price matched by MR Davis Rathbone. (Full report to follow)

Solid trade across all classes at CCM Skipton Christmas cattle highlight Skipton Auction Mart’s annual festive store cattle fixture featured pen-judged shows for young bulls, feeding cows and stores, backed by solid across-the-board trade for all classes. (Wed, Dec 9) Picking up the red rosette in the young feeding bulls show were Calderdale father and son, David and Daniel Broadbent, of Midgley, with a British Blue-cross sold for £1,140. A solid entry of 86 head for the section comprised some high quality bulls, which sold to an overall average of £1,030, against £967 the previous fortnight.
