Skipton Auction Mart airs new Farming Country podcast
CCM Auctions has become one of the first livestock marts in the UK to launch its own communications-boosting podcasts in direct response to the boom in digital audio.
Now streaming live is The Farming Country Podcast. “It’s a brand-new initiative designed to keep customers old and new at the cutting edge of trade and trends at Skipton Auction Mart and out there in the wider agri-sector,” explained general manager and auctioneer Jeremy Eaton.
In the launch broadcast, Mr Eaton and fellow auctioneer, livestock sales manager Ted Ogden reflect on a superb start to New Year prime hogg trade and in Farming Futures chew the cud on post-Brexit trade predictions moving forward into Spring and beyond.
From his uplands farm in Buckden, Garry Schofield discusses the importance of Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) payments with his daughter Megan, trainee land agent at the mart-based WBW Surveyors, while Skipton NFU representative Sam Bradley, who presents the launch episode, talks to Mr Eaton about forward-looking building work improvements currently taking place at the mart.
Produced by Craven Cattle Marts, the new podcasts are being edited by farmers’ daughter and wife, Danielle Daggett, who runs Skipton-based DJD Content Creation.
The mart commented: “Our new Farming Country Podcast airs a range of interesting and informative rural topics; from market reports to local businesses and industry news to tales from the Dales. It is already being extremely well received.”
It can be accessed via the click-on link on the mart’s home page at www.ccmauctions.com as well as its social media channels and partner websites. Episode 2 is due to be broadcast on Friday February 19.
