The Northern Area Texel Sheep Breeders Club, Skipton ‘Stormers’ Sale saw the Usk Vale flock of the Davis Family of Llandrindod Wells rewarded for their long journey with the Supreme Championship. Their Champion, the first prize shearling bred by Hexel Born to be Wild from a ewe by Sportsmans Admiral II was sold scanned for a single to Cressage Enforcer to M&J Tennant of Clitheroe for 1600gns. The first prize ewe lamb stood reserve champion for MA Evan’s Rhaeadr flock from Denbigh and achieved second highest price in section of 1500gns when selling to Dunham Farming of Langtoft. 2nd WINTER SHOW & SALE OF BLUE TEXEL FEMALES
Forward: 68 head of Pedigree Blue Texels

The Blue Diamonds sale of Pedigree Blue Texel Sheep held on behalf of the Blue Texel Sheep Society produced an excellent show with Phil and Laura Melland from Leek who had Reserve Supreme Champion with Morridge Esme a shearling ewe bred by Dragon Cranke out of a H.Y Pretender ewe, scanned for a single which sold for 2000gns to John Wood from Trawden. The Supreme Champion was the first prize ewe lamb consigned by Max Clough from Stape, ‘Heads Felicity’, a Dragon Dazzler daughter bred from an imported ewe which sold for 1400gns to HC Jewitt of Romaldkirk.
David Alexander Millhall topped his run at 1900gns with a Lyles Django daughter sold inlamb to a homebred ram to Messrs Davies of Cardigan. Messrs Alexander sold another at 1400gns.
Included in the sale was a Blue Texel Shearling Ewe donated by David & Karen Shuttleworth who purchased the sheep at a charity sale in the Spring of 2020, and brought it back to Skipton again to be sold for SEPSIS UK TRUST in memory of Hannah Brown. The Sheep sold inlamb to the 7,000gns Kingledores Beltex Ram that the Shuttleworth Family purchased last autumn, she was first bought for 800gns by Stephen Taylor re sold for 800gns purchased by Stuart Wood who re sold it and finally ending up at the home of Mr Barrett of Sowerby Bridge for 750gns. The mart yard staff also put £100 into the pot.

**NEW** PEDIGREE BADGER FACE TEXEL FEMALES

Stuart Wood from Skene in Aberdeenshire was another far travelled customer coming to the inaugural sale of Pedigree Badger Faced Texel this time with entries from his Woodies flock. His top price was an imported ewe scanned for a single to the imported ram ‘Full Monty’ which sold for 1600gns to AJ Bateman from Lowgill. Ewe lambs from the same flock were equally sought after with Ian Townson of Long Preston accounting for 2 March born imported gimmers the best a wide shapey lamb which made 1050gns
