Feeding Bulls – 70% of todays entry 2021 calves and a good trade. January, February and March calves £1100 if shapey and in forward condition. Smaller end of the entry £950 to £1050 and the very youngest calves £900. Calves in hard natural condition generally £800-£900. The few late autumn 2020 bulls in the entry tended toward the leaner condition and were £1100 to £1200.

Feeding Cows – a good entry of cows and competition strong for cattle to finish and sell in the New Year. One or two special cows in the entry with Limousins to £1780 from R Holroyd. Cast bulls also well sold with a 2012 Limousin at £1470 from WP&B Walker & Son.

Stores - similar again on the previous sale with flesh and power in very high demand. Best ended suckler bred feeding steers £1350-£1420 with a few real big sorts of Lims £1420-£1500. Top price steer from JW Stockdale & Sons, Burnsall at £1500. Nicely bred 12–14-month Lim and Blue steers regular £920-£1050 with some outstanding goods £1100-£1220. Continental heifers with retail spec ends and wide loins about them met a fierce trade ringside with 6 beasts selling from £1500-£1620. Top price of £1620 from R Holroyd, Hebden Bridge. Good retail spec cattle with flesh and size £1300-£1420 nice feeders bit leaner or not just as large meeting a trade around £1180-£1250 with some 12–14-month Lims selling £1020-£1120. Dairy bred blue bullocks selling up-to £1390 from KM&L Throup, Silsden Moor. Size and flesh dairy bred blue bullocks £1200-£1350 and nice feeding sorts £1140-£1220. Some smaller goods £920-£1070. Blue heifers a solid trade again with size and flesh £1075-£1160. Feeding goods £1050+ and dairy bred hard farmed growers £730-£900. Sim bullocks sold to £1200 from N&J Thwaite, Hellifield. A nice show of Natives forward for the 2nd Sale of Native cattle. Both growers and feeders all met an exceptional trade, D&J Coates, Coniston Cold sold Angus bullocks to £1325. Flesh and size £1200-£1245. Good lean feeders £1080-£1160. Some soggy 14 month bullocks either side of £1000 and 6 month old suckled calves £650. Char X Suckled steer calves 9/10 month old sold at £845-£975 from Fleets Farms, Rylstone. Young Suckled Heifer Calves in nice demand and more needed for clients looking to winter cattle.
