Fortnightly Catalogue Sale of Store Lambs
Forward: 831 Head, Overall av £92.66
A tremendous trade all through today, easily keeping pace with the rise in prime prices with the sale levelling at £92. Lowland lambs were £110 plus for several pens of best quality, whilst stronger framed lambs were £105/£110, nice medium Stores £95/£104 and long keep sorts £84/£94. A few pens of small sorts in the £70’s and late £60’s.
Mule Lambs with frame generally in the £90’s, an odd pen in 3 figures, smaller types in the £80’s and £70’s.
Horned lambs an excellent trade, several strong pens in the £80’s, mediums in the £70’s and smalls £50’s and £60’s.
Cheviot Lambs were probably the trade of day with several customers ringside keen to snap the offering. Best end £100 plus, the rest in the £90’s.
