Beltex type lambs topped at £110 from B&R Lawson & Son of Whashton, Richmond, closely followed at £109 by ID Brown of Marske, Richmond. Good bred sorts of medium size in the £89-£100 range and young May born lamb out of continental ewes £80-£88.
Texel lambs with size and conformation from J Sugden, Laycock sold 3 consecutive lots at £102-£108. Good strong Texel cross lambs with size £88-£94 Mediums in the early £80’s and more open coated younger goods £74-£78 with some younger crossed goods less.
Suffolk sold to £110 from CA Foster, Bolton Abbey for his pen of 50 first prize lambs from the show. Strong Suffolk crosses £94-£99 Mediums mid £80’s to late £80’s. Long term lambs late £70’s to early £80’s and a few small goods in the early £70’s.
Mule Wethers forward in excellent numbers today and sold to with a top price of £83, other stronger sorts £78/£80. Mediums £70-£76. With some later born lambs from £58-£64.

More lambs required next fortnight.

The opening sale of Breeding Sheep had a nice entry forward and a very busy ringside of prospective purchasers looking for mainly Suffolk & Texel Ewes for Early tupping. Main of the sheep on offer were 2,3,4 crop ewes and a price range of £140 to £185 covered most classes on offer, a few smarter pens in the £190’s. Some strong correct Mule Ewes made £140 to £150. More Ewes required for the second sale on a fortnights time. Entries to the Mart Office please.
