Similar ringside of buyers keen to fill pens and another excellent show of spring 2016 cattle met a very similar trade with once again a very high standard of entries. Pick of the runs was 8 blonde cross bulls march/april born from K&GJ Huck of Austwick which averaged £1178.
In the bullocks and heifers again strong runs from W Mason and Son from Appletreewick with a packet of 8 at £1300 and David Sandham of Croxton topping at £1330 with a Charolais Bullock led the way in the prices. However young heifers with shape were on the end of a cracking trade today with Limousin and British Blue x Heifers regularly past £1000’s and almost £30 - £50 better than the New Year sale. Black and Whites certainly turning a corner with well framed bullocks up to £880 but a healthy average of £750 for all types.
Next fortnight we look forward to the annual sale of bulling heifers with some regular consignors bringing runs of quality heifers perfect for running with the bull.
